animation self study 2
I used Blender and attempted to model a humanish character. I then attempted to rig it using Blender. My model looked a bit like a skelekton at this point but I decided to go ahead and attempt the animation. To make my animations I used the animation features in Blender. To make my human/ skeleton character walk I first had to decide where I wanted my animation to start. I picked a starting point that I liked. Then I selected my character and pressed the I key. I selected locRotScale from the list of options. This created a key frame at this point(This was frame 0 as I decided to start my animation on the first frame). I moved my character to the left a fair way. then I made another key frame here. This is what created the animation for my character. To play the animation I pressed Alt + A. The animation showed my character moving left. To make my other animation I followed the same steps but this time I wanted a jumping animation. Due to this I made sure my character was positioned in the air when I made the 2nd keyframe. I played this new animation and it looked like a jump. I then recorded the animations in Blender using Screen2Gif.
Attempted Jumping Animation:
Attempted Walking Animation: (Note will take a while to do anything as I took a while to hit record on this one)
I have learnt that rigging a object is hard and causes problems. My character is not rigged up right. Due to this you can see bones poking out in places. As for the animations, they seem a bit easier but it sort of looks like the character is just moving, instead of actually doing the action. I will try and fix this/ learn more in the coming weeks as it would be helpful to be better at this.
